BCEHL PLAYERS AND COACHES OF THE YEAR 2024-25

Saanichton, B.C. - The BCEHL is excited to announce both the Players of the Year and the Coaches of the Year award winners for the 2024-25 regular season. Winners have been chosen across the BCEHL for the Female U18 AAA, U18 AAA, U17 AAA and U15 AAA leagues.

The 2024-25 BCEHL Players of the Year are:

 

Female U18 AAA - Anna McKee (Fraser Valley Rush/ Surrey Female HA)

Anna McKee skated in 22 games for the Fraser Valley Rush this season, and finished with 45 points (28g-17a), which was enough to lead all Female U18 skaters in goals and points. McKee was selected as the Female U18 AAA league's Forward of the Month in December, January and February.

  

U18 AAA - Kaden Meyer (Greater Vancouver Canadians/ South Delta MHA) 

U18 AAA Greater Vancouver Canadians' defender, Kaden Meyer, led all blueliners in scoring during the 2024-25 regular season, with 51 points (11g-40a) across 36 games played. Among all U18 skaters, Meyer's 40 helpers ranked second, while his 51 points was good for 10th in league scoring. The 2023 WHL Draft selection of the Kamloops Blazers was named the U18 AAA league's Defender of the Month in September/October and January.

 

U17 AAA - Jasper Wood (Okanagan Rockets/ South Okanagan MHA) 

During the regular season, U17 AAA Okanagan Rockets' goalie, Jasper Wood, started in 18 games between the pipes, completing a record of 17-1-0-0 with a 1.59 goals against average and one shutout. He helped the Rockets finish in first place with a 32-4-0-0 record during the regular season. Wood was awarded the U17 AAA league's Goaltender of the Month in September/October, November and January.

 

U15 AAA - Luc Deschenes (Okanagan Rockets / Kelowna MHA)

Luc Deschenes started in 15 games for the U15 AAA Okanagan Rockets during the regular season. He ended with a 14-1-0-0 record with one shutout and a goals against average of 2.47. The Rockets finished in first place during the regular season with a 26-4-0-0 record with the netminder's help. In both September/October and January, Deschenes was named the U15 AAA league's Goaltender of the Month.

The 2024-25 BCEHL Coaches of the Year are:

 

Female U18 AAA - Melanie Jue (Greater Vancouver Comets)

Melanie Jue was awarded Coach of the Year in her third year serving as the Greater Vancouver Comets' head coach. With a record of 28-2-2-0, the Comets concluded the 2024-25 season in first place.

  

U18 AAA - Tyler Brough (Cariboo Cougars)

This year marked Tyler Brough's 10th season serving as the U18 AAA Cougars' head coach, and is the second year he is honoured with Coach of the Year award (2018-19). Brough guided the team to first place during the regular season with a 26-6-3-1 record.

 

U17 AAA - Ralph Vos Jr. (Fraser Valley Thunderbirds)

Ralph Vos Jr. was selected Coach of the Year for his impact during his first season in the BCEHL as a head coach of the U17 AAA Fraser Valley Thunderbirds. He led his squad to a second place regular season finish with a 23-10-1-2 record.

U15 AAA - Kyle Allan (Thompson Blazers)

During the 2024-25 season, Kyle Allan served as the head coach for the U15 AAA Thompson Blazers for the first time and was named Coach of the Year. With his guidance, the Blazers completed the regular season in second place with a record of 17-10-2-1.
