BCEHL PLAYOFF UPDATE - MARCH 7th - 10th

Saanichton, B.C. - It's time for the second week of playoff action in the BCEHL. In the Female U18 and U18 leagues, the opening round begins while the U17 league start their semifinals. Let's see what's happening around the BCEHL.

 

 

Female U18 AAA

 

The Female U18 playoffs kick off this weekend with an exciting best-of-three Survivor Series between the fourth-seeded Thompson-Okanagan Lakers and the fifth-seeded Vancouver Island Seals. The winner will advance to the semifinals to take on the top-ranked Greater Vancouver Comets.

 

Playoff Format

 

March 7-9 (Survivor Series - Best-of-Three)

·       (5) Vancouver Island Seals vs. (4) Thompson-Okanagan Lakers

 

March 14-16 (Semifinals - Best-of-Three)

·       (1) Greater Vancouver Comets hosting the winner of the Survivor Series between the Thompson-Okanagan Lakers and Vancouver Island Seals

·       (2) Fraser Valley Rush hosting the (3) Northern Capitals

 

March 21-22 (Championship - Best-of-Three)

·       Winners of the two semifinal series', hosted by the highest remaining seed

U18 AAA

 

The U18 playoffs get underway on Friday with four quarterfinal matchups. Teams will compete in a best-of-three series, with the first two games scheduled for Friday and Saturday. If needed, Sunday and Monday will be used for a third and deciding game to determine the series winner.

U17 AAA

 

Last weekend’s U17 quarterfinals saw the top-seeded Okanagan Rockets, third-seeded Vancouver North West Hawks, fifth-seeded Valley West Giants, and seventh-seeded Greater Vancouver Canadians emerge victorious in their respective best-of-three series. They now make up the four teams that will fight for a berth in the U17 Championship series.

The Okanagan Rockets advanced with a 2-1 series win

Congratulations to the Okanagan Rockets on winning the 2024-25 BCEHL U15 Championship!

 

The U15 Championship took place at Langley Twin Rinks last weekend where all eight teams competed in three round-robin games. Followed by a single-elimination knockout stage, the squads were seeded based on the results of the round-robin stage. Sunday's championship final saw the Okanagan Rockets skate against the Cariboo Cougars.
