BCEHL WEEKEND UPDATE - FEBRUARY 14th - 17th

Saanichton, B.C. - The final weekend in the U15 league goes down with much to be determined in the standings, as a pair of crucial matchups are set to take place. Let’s take a look at what’s in store around the BCEHL.

 

 

Female U18 AAA

 

There are four teams set for action this weekend in the Female U18 league. With only one point between them, the second-place Northern Capitals (14-13-0-1) will look to stay on top of the third-place Fraser Valley Rush (12-12-1-3) when they meet in Langley. The squads have had a competitive six-game series so far this season, with each team taking home three wins. Meanwhile, the league-leading Greater Vancouver Comets (26-2-2-0) will take on the fifth-place Vancouver Island Seals (6-20-0-2).

U18 AAA

 

The U18 league has four days of action this weekend. After moving into second-place last weekend, the Valley West Giants (22-9-0-1) will look to close in on the top spot as they have a home-and-home series against the fourth-place Fraser Valley Thunderbirds (17-14-1-1). So far this season, Fraser Valley has won two out of their three games against the Giants. The fifth-place Vancouver North West Hawks (13-11-3-4) will seek their first win against the first-place Cariboo Cougars (22-6-3-1) as they carry a record of 0-2-2-0 through four games so far this season.

U17 AAA

 

This weekend in the U17 league, the first-place Okanagan Rockets (30-4-0-0) will look to build on their eight-game winning streak when they go up against the fifth-place Valley West Giants (18-13-1-1). The pair have had two meetings this season with each winning one game. Then on Monday night, the Giants will travel to Burnaby to take on the fourth-place Vancouver North East Chiefs (19-10-2-2) who have split their four-game series to date.

U15 AAA

 

It's the final weekend of U15 regular season hockey, and the stakes couldn't be higher as teams have one last shot to solidify their place in the standings heading into the U15 Championship. The second-place Thompson Blazers (16-9-2-1) have 35 points and will look to hold off the third-place Cariboo Cougars (14-11-2-1) who has 31 points. Tied for fifth-place in the standings with 29 points, the Vancouver North West Hawks (14-13-1-0) and the Vancouver North East Chiefs (13-12-2-1) will battle for rights to the fifth-seed as the teams close out their regular seasons.
