BCEHL WEEKEND UPDATE - FEBRUARY 21st - 23rd

Saanichton, B.C. - It's the final weekend of the regular season with positions to secure in the U17, U18 and Female U18 standings! Here's what's happening in the BCEHL.

 

 

 

Female U18 AAA

 

The final week of the Female U18 league's regular season is highlighted by crucial matchups between four teams. The third-place Northern Capitals (14-15-0-1) who have 29 points, will look to fend off the fourth-place Thompson-Okanagan Lakers (11-13-3-3) who trail them by only one point in the standings. The second-place Fraser Valley Rush (14-12-1-3), who have won seven out of their last eight games, will look to lock in the second seed heading into the playoffs when they take the ice against the fifth-place Vancouver Island Seals (6-22-0-2).

Fraser Valley Rush @ Vancouver Island Seals - 5:00 p.m. - Cowichan Community Centre

 

Thompson-Okanagan Lakers @ Northern Capitals - 5:45 p.m. - Kin Centre

 

Sunday's U18 Games:

 

Thompson-Okanagan Lakers @ Northern Capitals - 8:15 a.m. - Kin Centre

 

Fraser Valley Rush @ Vancouver Island Seals - 11:15 a.m. - Fuller Lake Arena

 

 

 

U18 AAA

 

All eight teams in the U18 league compete in the final weekend of the regular season to secure their positions in the standings. The second-place Valley West Giants (24-9-0-1) have a chance to end the regular season in first-place as they sit only three points behind the league-leading Cariboo Cougars (24-6-3-1), who they meet on Sunday. The Giants have won each of their four matchups against the Cougars this season.

Okanagan Rockets @ Vancouver North West Hawks - 6:00 p.m. - Canlan Sports North Shore

Okanagan Rockets @ Greater Vancouver Canadians - 8:30 a.m. - Richmond Olympic Oval

 

Cariboo Cougars @ Valley West Giants - 9:30 a.m. - Langley Twin Rinks

 

Thompson Blazers @ Fraser Valley Thunderbirds - 10:00 a.m. - Summit Centre

 

 

 

U17 AAA

 

The U17 league finishes its regular season with one lone weekend series. With 29 points, the seventh-place Cariboo Cougars (13-18-1-2) will look to overtake the sixth-place Greater Vancouver Canadians (14-17-2-1), who hold a two-point lead in the standings heading into the weekend. The pair have only met twice this season, with each team claiming one victory.

The U15 league is on a bye week as they prepare for their championship starting on February 27.
