BCEHL WEEKEND UPDATE - SEPTEMBER 14th-15th

Saanichton, B.C. - The 2024-25 British Columbia Elite Hockey League (BCEHL) season kicks-off this weekend with 12 teams taking the ice throughout the province. There are eight squads set for action in the U17 league, while a single matchup takes centre stage in the U18 and U15 leagues. The Female U18 league will begin their regular at their showcase later in September. Let's take a look at each league before things get underway.

Female U18 AAA

The Female U18 AAA league kicks-off on September 27 at the Surrey Sport and Leisure Centre at their first of two showcases of the season.

U18 AAA

The U18 AAA season opens up with a two-game series between the Vancouver North East Chiefs and the Thompson Blazers, starting on Saturday. The following weekend will see a full-slate of games as all eight teams will hit the ice on September 21 and 22.

Sunday's U18 Game:

U17 AAA

The U17 AAA league kicks off on September 14 as eight teams hit the ice in their first games of the season. The top two squads from the 2023-24 regular season, the Greater Vancouver Canadians and Vancouver North West Hawks, will face off on Saturday and Sunday.

Greater Vancouver Canadians @ Valley West Hawks - 4:45 p.m. - Planet Ice Delta

Vancouver North West Hawks @ Thompson Blazers - 6:45 p.m. - McArthur Island Sport and Event Centre

Vancouver North East Chiefs @ Vancouver Island Royals - 7:00 p.m. - Ian Stewart Arena

Sunday's U17 Games:

Cariboo Cougars @ Okanagan Rockets - 10:00 a.m. - MNP Place

Vancouver North East Chiefs @ Vancouver Island Royals - 10:30 a.m. - Kerry Park Arena

Valley West Hawks @ Greater Vancouver Canadians - 11:15 a.m. - Richmond Olympic Oval

Vancouver North West Hawks @ Thompson Blazers - 1:00 p.m. - Sandman Centre

U15 AAA

The U15 AAA league gets going on September 14 with a weekend matchup between the Vancouver North East Chiefs and Thompson Blazers. The following weekend, all eight teams will gather at Langley Twin Rinks from September 20-22 for the first of two showcases of the season.
